2019 was the China – New Zealand Year of Tourism, which promoted increased tourism between the two countries, and increased boosts to local economies from tourism. To raise public awareness, a series of illustrative posters were created which blend elements of New Zealand and traditional Chinese cultural aesthetics.
Kiwi birds, cranes, stone lanterns, and native trees abound in this colorful poster series. Merchants and travel companies, large and small, were encouraged to use these posters or their elements to promote their participation in this cross-cultural tourism campaign.
